The Story Of A Funky White Boy - Originally diagnosed with a terminal case of the White Man's Disease, Jake faced an uphill struggle with rhythm. Years of disciplined wood-shedding and a potent medication of diverse music enabled him to overcome the condition and become a competent musician. Some would even go so far as to call him funky. Remains of his previous condition occasionally appear on the dance floor in a dangerous mixture of shoulder jerks and bizarre hip shimmies. Legend has it that due to a booking mishap, Jake accidentally killed a gaggle of nuns with his patented "drop the hot milkshake" dance move during what was supposed to be a routine private party event. What separates Jake from all the other great drummers out there, aside from dashing good looks and farming arugula lettuce, is his creed as a drummer. He serves the song and goes a step further. Bringing creativity, sensitivity, and groove to the table, Jake crafts completely original rhythms leaving songwriters with the Wood fingerprint. With a resume that reads like a 'who's who' of nobody you ever heard of, Jake continues his struggle to land that gig that will take him to the top...of a building. Really, just a penthouse with a well-stocked over-priced fridge would be nice. Influences: Rock - John Bonham, Danny Carey, Stewart Copeland, Tim Alexander.
